GIAN, an integral part of the Honey Bee Network has been working for over 25 years in promoting innovations and sustainable entrepreneurship among the grassroots level communities and individuals in India. GIAN promotes innovations from and for grassroots communities besides leveraging functional traditional knowledge, using commercial and non-commercial channels. This helps in conservation of biodiversity, augmenting local agricultural, non-farm, urban utilities, transportation for special need people, energy, and other herbal and mechanical products. It has worked with 91 UNDP Acc Labs in 115 countries to augment their solution/innovation mapping capabilities and energy innovation campaign. It provides risk capital to grassroots innovators with very limited material resources. It helps in converting people’s knowledge into products and service to explore knowledge based approach to poverty alleviation.

GIAN has enabled more than 100 innovators in transforming their innovation into a sustainable enterprise.
